Twitch Mappings Problems

Hi all,

Recently purchased CrossDJ 2.1 as i saw on the MixVibes main web page that it now has mappings for the Novation Twitch. I played around with the software first just on the laptop and loved it! After that things didn't go quite so well.

Firstly, i know nothing about MIDI mapping (coming from Serato with my Twitch). In CrossDj 2.1 i selected Twitch in the MIDI section under preferences and then plugged in my Twitch, loaded up some songs and started to try and mix them.
Unfortunately the Twitch and the software together are absolutely awful!! So many things don't seem to work properly at all and many buttons do nothing when pressed... ie. sync doesn't seem to do anything but sync bpm (unlike if i click on it in the software it lights up and snaps the beats together in the Beatmatcher visual) and there is no nudge option on the touchstrip (pressing shift does nothing and only swipe and drop seem to work) making it near impossible to keep tracks sync'd. Speaking of the shift button just pressing it makes random buttons light up on the Twitch like 'swipe' or the Performance Mode buttons on the unit.
All in all i just found it virtually unusable and completely awkward and bizarre which leads me to believe i've no doubt done something very wrong during the setup. ;-)

Any help would be greatly appreciated because if i can get this working properly with my Twitch i'm sold on the software!
I've also got a Kontrol X1 if anybody has had success mapping that please let me know.

The normal process is to plug the controler first then it will automatically find its mapping if present.
If not, you just need to associate (do the pairing) of the controler (bottom tab) with the mapping file (left column), be it built-in, imported or created from scratch. This allow you to change mapping with the same controler.

ie. sync doesn't seem to do anything but sync bpm (unlike if i click on it in the software it lights up and snaps the beats together in the Beatmatcher visual)

The sync will only work if bpm and beatgrid are corrects.
Also in the documentation the SYNC button have 2 functions :
sync decks OR link sampler to deck with the shift button.

and there is no nudge option on the touchstrip (pressing shift does nothing and only swipe and drop seem to work) making it near impossible to keep tracks sync'd.

By default the rubbon is scratching like a jog wheel it is the swipe mode.
When you hold drop, you'll be into seek mode.
There is no nudge option for this grid oriented controler.

Speaking of the shift button just pressing it makes random buttons light up on the Twitch like 'swipe' or the Performance Mode buttons on the unit.

The twitch controler even without any software will light up ribbon, hot cues and swipe button. Even shift will be light if you trigger it so nothing to do with the software, this hardware behavior.

All in all i just found it virtually unusable and completely awkward and bizarre which leads me to believe i've no doubt done something very wrong during the setup. ;-)
