Headphones

Postby adavis90 on 28 Apr 2020, 17:09

Hi, just looking for some help as I can’t seem to find any troubleshooting in the manual.
All of this is new to me, so please be patient as I’m trying to learn.I Have been given a Mixvibes mixpro2 by a family member. Ive linked it to my MacBook Pro. I have everything working, I can load tracks and have been playing around with it, trying to get used to how everything works. The only issue I’m having is that when I plug the headphones into the controller, I cannot hear the next track through the headphones. I am not using any external speakers, I’m just playing the audio through the Mac speakers. On the Cross programme I’ve gone into audio preferences and selected simple stereo as the routing mode. This doesn’t work. I saw someone having a similar issue with the Numark controller and someone suggested changing the routing mode to split mono. This allows me to hear the tracks separately when I hit the headphone source buttons, but this just splits them between the left and right speakers in the Mac. I’ve been at this for about 3 hours and still can’t seem to get this working through my headphones. Can anyone shed some light please!!

TIA

For Mac you need to create an 'aggregate' soundcard in OSX. Here you combine your Mac soundcard with the external soundcard.

Then in audio of Cross use this aggregate. select the to be used channels and set mode to dual stereo.

Not amc user, so don't know exactly how it works but pretty sure it's in the Cross manual.

Audio dropouts? Increase audio 'buffer size' value.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

Thanks for your response. I ended up digging out and old amp and connected it up to that and used the dual output option and all working well!!
