Glitch/Skipping when running external mixer

Heya

I'm experiencing some glitching/lag/skipping of tracks when mixing in external mode. It tends to only/more so occur when i adjust the hi, mid and low frequency knobs, or adjust anything on the mixer really. Everything runs fine when the track plays un-interrupted (95% of the time) so i'm assuming it may be to do with my computers power? or perhaps the difference between core audio and bit accurate? sample rate?

Running crossdj to xone23c sound card (allen&heath)
Computer: Mac late 2011 - processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5

Thanks in advance!

You have to increase the latency (audio buffer size) of your soundcard setting somewhat.

Preferences > audio > settings

You're clearly on the edge of the value, so pretty like a small increase will help you out.

This value determines the 'length' of sound that is send to your soundcard by the CPU. The smaller the value the more often the CPU has to add to the buffer. The higher the buffer size the more other things the CPU can do.

As it merely happens when you manipulate the mixer this is likely the only cause.
