Pics from 2002 (!!!) Musikmesse

Hello folks,

Eric,Lionel and also DFrank encouraged me on the MUSIKMESSE last week to put my pics of 2002 (MixVibes 4) in the Forum. That was when I first met Eric. It was also the MUSIKMESSE in Frankfurt (germany). The booth was unbelievable simple. PC-speakers, some plastic tables... but: a working (!!!) DJ-Software which accepted almost every equipment. I found a slightly better PC with an often used soundcard, dual (!) monitors, two (!) chromed Numark DMC-1 working on one machine plus a MIDI-Control-Mixer. On the bottom end I was heavily impressed because I could perfectly mix songs "on the fly" even without any headphone but with "user-chosen" external equipment. And hey: 4 simultaneously running and mixable channels with all the needed stuff and controls. It was 2002!!!!!!!! WOW!!!! And the price was unbelievable.
So, if you're here reading this, then you did it right! ;-) Spread the word: MixVibers are the nice guys with music in their veins...

That's the second table... barbecue style... ;-) Take a closer look at the pic and you will notice that it's running on a laptop with USB-Speakers. So it is definitely a soundcard "out of the wild" and no specialized stuff like others used. And even long before Vfx Eric knew that adding Vision is the future for DeeJays. Formerly restricted power of CPU / GPU and missing videofiles made him implementing the possibility of using visualisation plugins of common players. All this is working on a Laptop in the year 2002! The Numark DMC-1 you see in the pic was connected via serial cable. The jogwheels had only 10 (clicking) positions in a round. Compare this to today's Midi-Controllers. They have a grid of a few hundred positions in a round.

Finally the pics with Eric's finest glasses... ;-)
I remember that even the place of the booth was not really fine. But: it worked! And the product was one of the best improvements I discovered on the Musikmesse 2002. So greetings from me to Eric and his Team. You made a good way. Go ahead!
