cant get a steady signal from timecode cds

Postby Fant0m on 14 Mar 2010, 16:06

hi,

i connected my two Reloop rmp2 with a m-audio audiophile to my laptop (HP dv somethingsomething).
One CD Player is connected to the normal audio input, the other is connected to the s/pdif input.
But mixvibes cant get a steady signal from the CD Players. it just gets a little signal when i use the installation wizard and seems to freeze this. i added a screenshot which shows the configscreen. there is a graph, but the quality of the signal is 0%.

and here is my config report:

Hi FantOm!

funktionieren. In diesem Fall erfolgt zwar eine Wiedergabe, allerdings
nicht mit der richtigen Samplefrequenz bzw.Geschwindigkeit.

Aktiviere mal nur den analogen Eingang, wird der Timecode dann erkannt?

Sorry here in english:

i found this in the manual:
maybee this is the problem

NOTE:Whenever S/PDIF Input is selected as an Active Port, the
Audiophile is expecting a digital signal at that port and to lock to
the sample rate of that signal. When S/PDIF Input is selected and
there is no signal present at the S/PDIF Input port,or the S/PDIF
signal is not recognized or invalid, the Audiophile USB will not
operate properly. Most likely, you will hear audio from the
Audiophile, but it will be running at an odd sample rate and sound
like it is playing at the wrong speed.

is the timcode correct if u use only the analog input?
is your S/pdif connection in general working?
try to record something with an external app for testing.

and the s/pdif connection is working. at least the driver gets a signal.
i will try to record something, but maybe i will just be able to record something at the next weekend.

thanks for your help!

Click on the button at the bottom that shows you the circle diagram. The main guess here is that the input volume is too loud on any number of things, and the sound is getting clipped / digitally distorted. For your setup, it could be any of the following:
    1. The Reloop CDJ distorts audio above a certain range (unlikely)
    2. The Reloop outputs a clear, high voltage audio signal which is being clipped by your audio interface (likely - have no amplification on the sound card active at all)
