Let me guess, you are using Cross? Cross is riddles with windows errors. I would recommend waiting for a more stable version of the software or switching to MAC. I know this because I had tons of issues with a fresh install of windows. I even bought a brand new quad core PC and still had audio glitches.

Please do not mix up Windows VISTA or XP with SEVEN issues. These operating systems are not managing audio the same way.
