Small "crack" at the beginning of every track, Cross

Postby Kriztov on 12 Aug 2009, 13:18

Hey everybody,

yesterday I downloaded the demo of Cross, and I must say, I think its more stable than the DVS.
Only one small thing, right before every first sound of a track I load, in the waveform, you can see a white vertical line. I think Cross sees this as the exact beginning of the track. Now, this white line I see, also causes a "crack" sound when I move my vinyl forward & backwards at this point.

So when you put the needle in the beginning and start a track, first you hear the "crack" at the point where this white line is in the waveform and then you can hear the track.

Something I have to adjust??

Hi Kristov, could you post a config report please?

Edit: LOL I just realized you're using Cross, the DVS badge on your profile threw me off. Could you tell us what your settings are?

I don't know the answer to the question. Anyone at the office?

Strange... Just tried with cd's and it works perfect.
Only with the vinyls I get a little crack at the point where the white line is...

Vinyl is calibrated at 98%, I use ASIO4ALL driver @ 256samples (5.8ms)
Routing mode is "external mixer"
Vinyls are new
Don't know what I'm doing wrong...

As I said, with the cd it's perfect!

Weird...

Okay, other question...

How come the waveform of my right deck is moving very slightly, with the needle NOT ON the record, while my left deck is playing a track???

I even tried connecting only the left deck to the soundcard, but it seems that when one deck is playing, the other also gets a tiny amount of signal...

???

I guess it is a cable problem or some of your hardware is broken or not connected right. Mixvibes software is interpreting the low noise from the error as slow moving timecode, so it moves.
You can change your cables and check your hardware. Maybe this helps.
