Having trouble recording...

hey everyone, i've read the numerous threads and tutorials on here about recording and have been stumped after trying for about a month now.... yikes...

below is my config report... i am open to whatever on how to record... i do have sound forge 9 as well if needed...

if possible please walk me through the basic set up of my equipment to the software adjustments i need to make...

also, i tried using the tutorial explaining to "drag your audio input into the 3rd virtual player".. well the picture was too small and in a different language in the example picture you provided so i had trouble finding this audio input i need to drag...

any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance

we need to know a little more about your hardware and how you intend to record your mixes...

i can see you have a U46MKII, though, are you recording onto the same computer as you use for mixvibes or not?

im planning to record on the same computer i am presently using mixvibes...

currently i have a mixer hooked up to the u46mkII with 2 vinyl turntables... all of this is hooked up to a stereo receiver... that is all the hardware presently involved (laptop included)...

small update as well... i currently figured out how to record using sound forge 9 - but the problem is it only records changes i make using the internal (mixvibes) volume controls .. i would rather record my mixes i create using my mixer crossfader...

i am open to either recording using sound forge or mixvibes if it is possible to record my mixes using the mixer Cross fader rather than the internal volume controls...

am i going to need to purchase an external recorder to do this?

booyah! i must have eaten a bowl of dumb stuff but all i had to do was plug the line in on my laptop to the booth/zone on my actual mixer...
