hello all
just out of interest im wondering how many turntablists are using mixvibes and how they are finding it ? what there set up is etc etc .... this is my style of mixing and i am finding it difficult because of really bad drift when spinning the vinyl fast (back or forwards)? i can get it to work without any problems with a old version (6.282) and old vinyl but with the newer versions and latest vinyl im finding it impossible to get good results ? any help comments would be great ...... i dont think this problem will have much of an effect on house/dance style music as it only happens on fast spins even scratchin is not that bad but beat juggling is out of the question !
so far the mv team are giving me all the help they can and i thank them for this ....... i am just interested in other turntablists views..
thanks for any comments mydogrizla aka sean

Hmm, im using the latest version of mixvibes(note:7.1)
I don't have any problems with it
im using
u64mkII with esi driver 1.39 mixvibes DVS version 7.1 laptop: core2duo t5550 1.83ghz 3gig ram 250gb disk
But i think your scrolls to far, out of youre loaded buffer. (i thoughd Pioneer cdj400 als had this problem)
do you load the complete song if you drag it on a player, whats your driver settings, and driver version, your buffer size etc?

Have not tried 7.1 yet because playin around with my "new" System.....
But you know, that i also had problems with driftin.
I Think: The Soundcard could not be responsible for the drifting. On your side 3 Soundcards tested and here at my side i tried PCI Maya 44 Mk II and Echo Audiofire. -->DVS Drifting
I Use an Original Version of Win XP so that also could not be the matter.
Only thing changed before i recogniced the driffting was, that i bought a new Mainboard (ASUS P5K) and new Prozessor (watch out: Also a intel core 2 6600. Could that be maybe the Problem?? Other thing what was changed was using V2b records instead of V2 records........but i don´t think that this causing the problem!
Just searchin for answers......

as well as trying 3 sound cards i also have 2 pcs 1 running xp dual core and another running vista on with quad core q6600 but the only difference i noticed was that on the quad core machine the track load time was very very fast other than that the drift issue was the same ...... for me it is something to do with the input of the time code because when you spin fast the signal becomes very loud and i think this causes the drift ( i may be wrong ) ...............................................the story goes on !!!!!

I will test it out today, spinning my record to the end. Do u load the complete song in mixvibes("buffer"), you should find this in the options menu. regards,

not exactly sure what you meen what tab is this setting under ? when i drag a track to deck the whole song does load yes .. i will try and make a video today and post it up to show evry one what happens when i spin fast ,it is not just sticker drift that is noticed but also the wav file shows that the track is going backwards then forwards when only spinning backwards ....... this only happens when spinning fast ,if i turn the vinyl back slowly this does not happen but when im beat juggling i need to spin back fast ......
i still havent had any one reply saying the are a turntablist DJ ?
well only mr meth but he also says he is getting drift ?

i'm a scratch DJ/turntablist. i think any scratch DJ can tell there is a little latency with any digital system. however, over the years i've adjusted to it.. but there are still some scratches i cannot do on mixvibes.
i have not tested 7.1 yet because my laptop recently broke. however, my style of mixing involves a lot of scratching/juggling/trick mixing and this was my set up before my laptop broke... i used both v2 and v2b records and didnt notice significant differences. FYI, DJ troubl still uses v2 records.. WITHOUT the 1 minute split marks!!

We are not talking about latency......we are talking about drifting! drifting= the sound is not staying at the same place on the vinyl. It drifts.
