It's amazing how many setups are facing the wall... and are limited to the bedroom. I have my setup in the living room.
I know it saves space but the feeling of facing the room is much better, especially when throwing a party and actually seeing the audience reactions, even if its just 2 people. Plus you get the added benefit of your own "DJ Booth" for your friends to feel like VIPs. If you're limited to facing the wall, try taping a large picture of a crowd (10,000+) in front of you, it worked for me, and you'll make less mistakes!
I'm married and my wife would've let me put my setup in the living room no matter what it looked like, but for her sake, I got the Sefour X30 stand to make it "pretty".
