Cross DJ4, UI configurable with Maquillage

Postby sirplex on 23 May 2019, 09:39

As announced on the product description on http://www.mixvibes.com, there supposedly is a script language (Maquillage) used for the new Cross DJ4, allowing the UI to be customized.

Since I appreciated the possibility in Cross DJ 3.4 to set cue points while using the seek buttons, in DJ 4 I haven't found this possibility. It's either Seek or Hotcues/Hotcues2. Also I liked to see all 8 hotcue points on one page.

Therefore, could you please indicate how to get this functionality back and if not possible by standard, how to access Maquillage in order to amend the UI.

Thx in advance.

Fully agree. Really can't understand why the design of the UI has been messed up like this. 1 step forward is the beatmatcher, Still counting for the steps back (used all fingers  ).

Find it so hard to understand that it was build on purpose like this, that it almost seems like the team ran into unexpected limitations of maquillage as also in Beta testing this was reported.

If not then I guess likely quite some users will be contributing to (better ;) ) usable skins.

The design of the new UI is terrible. The workflow makes zero sense to me. Previously the layout would mimic the way my controller is layed out. Now its just all over the place.
