Gauging level of interest in supplementary DJ software

Postby DJSurgeon on 29 May 2017, 10:24

Hello all,

I am looking to find out the level of interest in a stand-alone program to supplement something like Serato, etc. This software would be capable of sorting and searching through very large music libraries by BPM and key. It would also be able to determine and normalize volume across large numbers of files, do batch (1000+) file format conversion, and do key and BPM transformations with an algorithm that preserves pitch. There appear to be a few alternatives already available for this but many of them are outdated or no longer in development.

If this sounds like something that would be of use to you, or if there is any other feature that you would be interested in seeing, I would like to discuss it with you!

Thanks.

Don't think you'll find many people interested here. Most DJ's have their own tool set for some of the features you mention.

Cross can handle large libraries, has a build in feature for BPM (sync), tempo with various settings for key, normalize gain. Also a Match by key is present.

Once using DJ tools there;s hardly any need to do (batch) conversion. Maybe occasionaly changing key is wanted for some tracks but most times having the original track and do this on the fly provides more flexibility.

It really depends on what the use is for, but I like DJ software that can take care of all my needs in one program if possible. The convenience is a big part of DJing for me.
