Re: New controller

The DDJ - SX(2) is at this moment out of my budget (€200 - €300).
What is your opinion about DDJ - SB?

Thanks

The DDJ-SB is Ok I guest. I just don't think it has enough hardware MIDI addresses to make it flexible enough. If you are doing video then the minimum I would recommend is the DDJ-SR.

It's an old controller, but my Vestax VCI-400 is still my go to. Modern controllers just don't "feel" right to me, and the layout of Cross was designed around the VCI-400, so it's very natural workflow.

I did customize the MIDI mappings a bit, but nothing to substantial. The biggest problem with the Vestax is that they are no longer in business, but parts are still available should repairs be needed down the road (I have only had to replace the faders and crossfader once in the 5 years I have had it, and my VCI has a TON of hours on it).

Glad you like Cross layout, but the UMCP2 was designed by mixvibes. Even before there were to many manufacturers in this market. So Cross originally was designed with UMCP2 in mind. Nowadays it's more hybrid match with controllers around.

I think my Vfx died last night, because he wont turn on (blue light flashing without stopping).
I need to buy a controller this week, i have a set on friday.

They seem to have stopped making the controller, but you can still buy them on amazon. I've bought a few via Amazon.

I just purchased the Pioneer DDJ SR2 and hope I can get the MIDI file for it and also hope that the video works well in the new Cross pro 4.0.1.
