Able to save various audio configs

Postby elationdjs on 02 Nov 2014, 03:34

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if you could add a feature so we could save different audio configs we may use and then load them as required for different hardware setups.

It would be easy then to recall your exact settings you use if say using multiple audio cards with cdjs or MIDI controllers for example.

Before I moved to Cross VDJ8 incorporated this feature and I personally found it very useful.

Cheers John

It seems like a nice feature to have. What I see as a disadvantage is that you loose touch with setting up audio once something is wrong.

You would rely on quite some conditions regarding hardware and software that cannot be controlled by Cross. I would rather spend the time and be sure of the settings to work in any environment.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

+1

I would love to be able to save a configuration for all the settings - sound card routing settings, master volume level (for units with hardware volume controls / external mixer mode), filter on/off setting e.t.c.

I play on three different hardware setups depending on the venue I'm at, each with different routings and different controls missing from the MIDI mappings. This means lots of mousing around setting up the controls I can't control on the hardware.

Some settings will never change. My one controller's master out will always be 3/4, not 1/2. If people forget how to set things, they'll just have to figure it out. They did it once, they can do it again.

@mangoman
For external mixer the master out is recommended to be full open as this delivers line level.
The technical motivation is that the soundcard(+driver) reduces quality of the sound by reducing volume which you afterwards increase with your amp which also reduces quality.

This is not a good.bad issue but merely good.better.best
