CDJ - more usefull data on the screen

Postby shady on 22 Jul 2014, 14:40

Hi guys, my mate and me are using Mixvibes for a 4-deck setup with 2 timecode-vinyls and 2 CDJ-900 Nexus combined with a Xone DB2 as soundcard, which is actually working nice.

One problem we still have, is Mixvibes not sending important data, but instead sending things like the cover-art to the CDJs via HID.

We asked over at Pioneer but they told us you would have to implement the possibility to send other things through the HID so things like the Key,BPM and other things could be shown there instead of the cover-art taking up 50% of the screen, which is not really usefull at a gig :)

Not sure if it is linked, but you can turn cover art off in Cross decks. Might have same effect on the CDJ.

In the deck click the small box next to the coverart

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

 seems like a valid suggestion ,,and useful ,, just curious as to if any software , has been immplemented to show other info and remove the cover art for this ,, seems like rekordbox might be the first since they are a Pioneer implemented software set up for the cdj ,, kinda strange that the owness was placed on the software being used to mange this , but none the less ,, might need some feedback from the dev team as to the full situtation ,, remember there is always two sides to the story ,
like to move this to suggestions ,,

any statement by the developer? is there any chance this will be implemented?

Since there is already data being send through HID, which is being shown on the screen, you would only have to change the things being shown, dont you agree?
its really unprofessionel when playing in a club to have the cover-art on the screen but almost nothing else which is important.

This would must defiantly be nice to have, but not sure it's that simple to implant. Serato and Traktor also only show cover art just like Cross not sure what VDJ displays.
