First Professional Use- U-Mix Control Pro 1

Postby KevMaverick on 30 Dec 2012, 03:07

Thanks to a really nice guy - his name shall remain unknown - I don't want to embarrass him (you know who you are, and THANK YOU!)... I got a U-Mix Control Pro 1, and used it at a gig for the first time tonight...

Oh man! Things were so much better, and so much easier! Having easy access to gain/bass/mid/treble knobs made the gig so much less hard work - I had to do all that with the mouse before!

The ability to PROPERLY monitor each deck was AWESOME, as was being able to preview tracks... just to make sure.

Oh, to the Mixvibes guys - I don't know what you put in that little box, but it sounded incredible, compared to using the onboard soundcard in my laptop, or even my external one- it was amazing.

I was nervous tonight, because I was using a new controller, and also a new mixer, but it went great! I can't wait for New Year's Eve when I do my next gig. :D

And to that kind person who sent my Control Pro over 4000 miles, you deserve good karma my friend - not forum karma - LIFE karma!
Summer is here! Only 4 things we need - cold beer, hot ladies, loud music, and more cold beer!

I used my new U-Mix Control Pro 2 last night for the first time out playing live.

I did a local pub gig and it was perfect, ideal for the limited space I had. My Hercules 4-Mx is slightly to big.

I was well pleased with it.

No mate I haven't.

The standard mapping does me fine.

I agree with you Jim about the size. I can fit mine in my laptop bag, along with my laptop itself and my headphones...

'DJ in a bag!' :D

Seriously though, it's a great performance tool. I absolutely love the Browser function - I hardly need to use a mouse now!

Do I have to map the keyboard myself, or is there a standard mapping?

Sorry if that's a silly question!

  guess you get to play around ,,,,easy to do and pleanty of help avaible,,,figure out what controls you would like ,,check out the installed mapping and figure out what you want to do ,,,did it for controls before i had the U-Mix Control Pro,, mapped cue volumes ,bass kills ,pitch controls amd also track gain ,,, all the controls you would have to mouse around with on the gui,,pretty straight foward by duplicating the installed mapping and editing /adding the ones you want,,,
