You mean purely for Cross ??? KevMaverick wrote:I agree and understand - but just imagine... 'Ubuntu Cross Edition'!!!!!
Exactly and like said : daniel clark wrote:not trying to dampen any mood ,but the main concern and stopper would be proteriy rights(realy spelled wrong), so any thing with MixVibes coding will have to be done with MixVibes support and blessings
this is the only option to avoid heavy support : dedicated/stripped OS/version.

Oops I meant to say for Cross! There are many programs for Linux that are paid for - not everything has to be open source.

what I find ironically about this whole linux thing is, that mixvibes Cross was originally announced for Win, Mac AND Linux! They were advertising for it @ Musikmesse 08 (I was there) and after that somehow the whole linux thing disappeared silently and nobody ever mentioned it again. You can still read the official announcement (conatining linux) in a Scratchworx-Article from 08: http://www.djworx.com/skratchworx/newsp ... 8&_id=1152Anyway, I as a Linux-User am very excited for the things that are coming around this year! Steam will definitely play it's part in showing the people, that serious gaming on linux is possible. And Bitwig Studio will hopefully kick some *bleton *ss!

I still think that if it's possible, the way to go is a complete Linux Distro, geared purely to run Cross. Not just an add-on, for Ubuntu, or whatever, but a whole operating system that has one single purpose - to run this awesome software, with minimum overheads, minimum resources and to be a viable performance OS. The thought is there: 'Cross OS', or 'Cross Linux' The possibilities are endless! If Google and their partners can release their 'Chromebooks', we could possibly have our very own 'Crossbooks'. I'd buy one!

Here are some interesting things: There is a tiny computer called Raspberry Pi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raspberry_PiIt has nice stuff, it can run linux, the whole thing works as a miniature PC, and if you combine it witha proper box, and inside-the boy USB hub and a proper power adaptor this thing is very good. Specs can be found at the end of the Wikipedia article. It is insanely cheap, and small. It also has Wifi, certain programs support AirPlay, like in this video.

I would love to have linux PC for djing. Linux is my favorite OS, but just because of djing/illustrator, my only option is disgusting bloody windows..
I really hope mixvibes team keep their original promise for a linux based version of Cross. There will be a huge market there and you'll see this with bitwig, which promised a linux version too.
