You do know that you need at least 2 physical stereo-outputs, one for master and one for cue?! if you only have one stereo-output, you do need an external sounfcard or a y-splitter-cable, but then you will only have mono-signal for master and cue-signal.

j-kut wrote:a non existing one Funny! But seriously, I would first follow these steps: 1. Make sure that all drivers are installed correctly. 2. Go into the control box for your soundcard and check the number of channels selected. I've seen lots of setups where a 7.1 soundcard was present, but the computer was only set up to use a 2 channel stereo output. 3. If all the above is okay, then do as JimB says and get Asio4All. In my personal experience, using that little program was the only way to get my sound working as I wanted. http://www.asio4all.com/If none of the above works, then get back to us. I'm sure this problem is a fixable one.

From what i recall, i dont think you can use a 7.1 for 'dual channel stereo' applications. And i think Daniel Clark had this setup for a while a long time ago, and ended up getting USB soundcard to run in addition to a 7.1, but had a lot of problems with latency, setup ect.... running 2 soundcards instead of 1......(correct me if im wrong Dan ) 1 half decent soundcard with dual stereo is the way to go, with ASIO Cheers
