I know just a few audio interfaces that are USB 2.0 i.e. the Native Instruments Audio series or the Hercules DJ Trim 4&6. If it is not written in the article decription that it definitely IS a USB 2.0 interface it is not. I feel like 99% of the audio interfaces out there are USB 1.1

Steve

Is the U-Mix Control Pro not USB 2.0?

This problem seems incredible. Not everyone can afford a mac. Google shows loads of people having this problem, with a variety of DJibg packages and it seems the responsibility lies with Microsoft, so we can pretty much forget having a patch for this.

Of course, I'm currently away from home and haven't even tested it out yet. Fingers and toes crossed.

Unfortunately not although it works on my i5. This is the problem: you can not say that it definitely works - some do, some don't. From what I know even all developers (NI, Ableton, Steinberg, ...) do not exactly know how to fix this :-(

Exactly! This does not affect a signel software i.e. Traktor or Cross but it seems to be a windows only problem. Of course not everybody can afford a mac - even I do not want to if I had the money ;)

Exactly! Maybe it works fine - crossing fingers for you too!

Thanks Steve, thanks for taking the time to reply. Sorry if I've come across short in my last few replies. I'm just utterly dismayed right now, not to mention having to wait until late afternoon tomorrow to find out how bad the news is! Also feel pretty stupid bearing in mind the first page of this thread saying be wary of the icore processors. In the end, I was just looking for the best performance laptop for a budget price.

As for buying a replacement audio interface, I get a bit confused with these DJ Controllers. I have a standard mixer, I have decks and I want to carry on using timecode vinyl. So getting a DJ controller seems like a waste, other than being able to map buttons to Cross functions. Just a little unsure of the setup here.

Ideally I'd like to know of a cheapish but reliable 2 in/2 out USB 2.0 audio interface...anyone know of any!?

Don't worry, all is fine! J-kut and I exactly know what you are talking about because we struggled and fought with this issue many times - sometimes it ended up successfully, sometimes not.

As I posted on the i-core sticky...

Hi guys,

So I just wanted to confuse things even further by saying that I have Windows 7 Home Premium and an I-core 3 Sandybridge processor, and so far everything seems fine. Been playing around for half an hour, tried latency settings of 48,000HZ and 5.7ms latency and 2.7 ms respectively, and I've had no problems. Performance is certainly more responsive than my old desktop.

I really wasn't expecting it to work, but it does.

Annoyingly Advanced SystemCare 4 is now telling me that my trial period is now over and that to use the Booster functionality (the one that turns off all unwanted services etc) is only available by paying for the pro version.

Are there any other free alternatives? I know I could use msconfig, but I'd like the ability to disable/re-enable these services by clicking a button.

When I don't have a lot of time to tweak I usually go with GameBooster. It is not a bad starting point imo.

Argh! That's it. I think I got fooled by some ad that told me to get Advanced Systemcare 4 which has the boost functionality in-built, but I used to use GamesBooster.

I have Windows 7, but would like to use Gamesbooster just to see if that helps me in anyway.
