Dual Core versus Core 2 Duo: Any difference?

Postby jrin72 on 25 Aug 2011, 19:22

So I just bought a U-Mix Control with Cross DJ LE software.

Now I realize that my laptop has a dual core Intel Pentium B940 processor at 2.0 GHz, and 4GB RAM.

As far as I can tell, this is not a Core 2 Duo processor, which the support page recommends.

But when I look up CPU benchmarks online, I see that my dual core processor is ranked better than Core 2 Duo processors.

So could the Cross DJ LE software work with my dual core processor and 4GB RAM, or do I have to go with the recommended (and inferior) Core 2 Duo processor?

Thanks.

Yeah, you should have no problems, mate ;)

I've tried CrossDJ and Cross on my new Samsung netbook with only 1GB ram and with a small 1.6ghz Atom N455 CPU and it performed pretty well.

So you shouldn't have any problems with your Specs.

BTW,

Please regirster your CrossDJ LE software serial, if there is any update(s) available you then should be able to download it after you are regirstered ;)

Hey,

welcome and yes don't worry. The B940 is not a Core 2 Duo like the old ones.
The B940 is an real dual core with intels graphics chip. These new version is also more efficient then the old Core 2 duos. So you will have a longer battery work time ;).
[EDIT] I checked my processor table and it is also an Sandy Bridge prozessor ;) [/EDIT]

And I run Cross DJ as backup at a 3GHz Pentium 4 ;) which is more than 7 years old ;).

So have fun with your product.

Regards
Christian
