U-Mix Control 2 and control vinyls?

Postby zanderdanmark on 08 May 2011, 00:01

I am thinking about purchasing the U-Mix Control 2, some cheap belt-drive turntables and a pair of V2B MixVibes control vinyls.

Will this be possible without any problems? Or will I have to upgrade further.

All feedback is greatly appreciated.

Regards.

Hi,

do you mean the U-Mix Control Pro?
afaik there is know U-Mix Control 2...

It´ll work fine, but you´ll have to upgrade to Cross, which is 49€ at the moment i think.

cheers

no jay, its a different controller, without the onboard soundcard. check and compare: http://www.mixvibes.com/content/products/dj-controllers

so zander, the answer fo your question is a definite no: you have to choose the U-Mix Control "PRO" (not the "2") and upgrade its Cross DJ software (oh ye, another disadvantage is that the umc2 comes with Cross DJ le) to Cross to handle vinyl control. more info on upgrading :right: http://www.mixvibes.com/content/products/upgrades
and to get the picture check the compare chart of the features of different mixvibes DJ software :right: http://www.mixvibes.com/content/cross-compare

hope i could point you to the right direction :)

What if I then purchase the U-MIX44 audio interface / DVS pack and plug it in to the U-Mix Control 2.
Will that make it possible?

well wait for an official statement from the mv team but i think it should work that way too. still, i d recommend the U-Mix Control Pro cuz its like a umc2 + a u-mix44 built together - less usb ports used, less power needed from the side of your computer etc etc :right: less source of problems :!:

OR check out the Cross Pack + an external analog mixer of your choice (instead of using a MIDI controller)

edit.: oh i misread your previous post, sry. yes, thats what i meant :)

Well I'd rather get the cheapest available. I dont care about the amount of wires and how much electricity it is using etc.

U-Mix Control 2 139€
U-Mix 44 89€

http://www.musicstore.de/is-bin/INTERSH ... tCBWhXOks=

= 218€

U-Mix Control Pro ~279€

http://www.thomann.de/de/mixvibes_umix_control_pro.htm

But if you are asking me I would suggest the U-Mix Control Pro. All in one device!!!

Steve
