To be clear, in order for my brand new ION Discover DJ to work I'm going to have to buy the Cross DJ for $86.59?

To be clear, your "brand new" Ion discover DJ have an outdated version of Cross that can't be updated.
You asked for a solution, I gave you one.

Ion have tested and validated the controller with this Discover 1.3.2 which is locked to this controller : it can't work with something else.

May be Ion have more information about this Ion product, so advise with Ion support may be they will give you an other controller that work in 1.3.2

Before claiming that 1.3.2 has a bug, you should have explained clearly what is happening to you. Couldn't you have jumped to conclusion a bit too fast ?

It's sad when Technical Support is so discourteous and ill mannered. I'm a paying customer. The version you license is by your own words "outdated". You shouldn't license "outdated" software. It burns the customer. I'll be sure to post my disappointing experience anywhere I find MixVibes mentioned.

This is nothing mixvibes is responsible for! Blame Ion for selling products with outdated software!!!!!!

Till now I don't know what is exactly your issue but let me explain how I saw this from my side :

- you decided that discover1.3.2 was the fail and stuck with this statement.
(it isn't because it works for thousands of people)
- you asked for a fix for it to work like Cross DJ 1.5
- you can't update the Ion LE (limited) version, so I told you need to upgrade to the full version
- you're not happy and telling me that you don't want to pay to have your thing working (it is natural)
- I explain you what is it exactly between Ion & Mixvibes
- You're now angry and want to put shame on me (support) and mixvibes ?

Discourteous and ill mannered ?
May be if I had a chance to know what is your issue I should have helped you.

I'm a paying customer.

So you'd better complain to the Ion support.

The version you license is by your own words "outdated".

So you'd better complain to the Ion support.

You shouldn't license "outdated" software

In late 2009 it wasn't, you'd better complain to the Ion support.

It burns the customer.

So you'd better complain to the Ion support.

I'll be sure to post my disappointing experience anywhere I find MixVibes mentioned.

Be sure to know of what you're talking about.

I just read this thread and i have the same issue as everyone on this thread. When is ion and mixvibe going to fix this issue. i called ion and would like a fix. if you two are going to sell hardware / software that is connected by software, it should work, and it doesnt.

I don't think you really read this thread but I will repeat myself again :

You're dealing with a frozen version (late 2009) we're now in early 2011 updates have been done on our side.
The IDDJ version is a limited version of a software called Cross DJ. Part of the limitations is : no update. In the mean time Cross DJ have seen 4 updates (1.3.2 / 1.4 / 1.5 / 1.5.1).

So do I understand this correct? Those of us that just recently (late 2011) bought or received the "Discover DJ" version are screwed. There are no ways to update this version to work properly at all times? Mine has worked a few times, but I can't count on it to work when I want it too. The controller is unrecognizable, the lights come on, but the controls do nothing. I have tried turning/plugging the controller on/in a different order, but haven't found a way that will do it, any help would be appreciated.

The limited version can't be updated, the full version can be.

:( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
I too find that it is odd that Mixvibes would allow ION to sell a product that has Mixvibes software in it that is outdated and inoperable as packaged. I too just got the Ion Discover DJ controller Dec 2011. The ION box clearly shows that this is PC & Mac compatible. While System Information on my Mac does see that the controller is connected and Yes, I was able to get the Mixvibes software installed on my Mac it is useless because of something isn't seeing the controller. I don't necessarily blame Mixvibes but I do think that they should release a patch to allow this controller I have and the software to work as it was intended. A good company is built on solid customer service and not on juvenile bickering back and fourth. Now the best way for Mixvibes to get us ION Discover DJ owners to buy more of their software is to throw us a bone when we clearly have purchased a legitimate version of their software. Can anyone see that by being rude and saying there is no other way but to buy our full version is simply WHY people DOWNLOAD PIRATED SOFTWARE. I would hope that anyone that has an ION Discover DJ would be given a fully working copy of the software or as many people have probably done take the mixvibes software, use it as a drink coaster and buy someone elses software. We are not looking to get something free that we didn't in some way pay for working software. I would hope that someone in upper management sees my post and decides to be a grown up company and help out its supporters.
