2 soundcards - wont work?

Postby yaniiz on 14 Jul 2010, 18:59

Been reading some threads here but everyone seems to be having problem with their soundcards, using one card with multichannels.

My problem is that im using 2 soundcards.
one internal soundcard and one USB one.

This worked fine on Virtual DJ and everything else...
But Cross Discover DJ with my Ion Discover DJ mixer wont work with this solution.

So how come everything else worked great while Mixvibes software doesn't? Seems quite wierd if you ask me.

It took me 2 minutes to configure Virtual DJ but i've spent all day with Cross software...

So the problem at hand is that im running 2 soundcards, one for master and the other one for que/headphones and i've been reading all the tutorials and every tip i could find but nothing works..

Either the sound from both channels come on one or nothing at all.
As you hear im quite tired and i've been cursing alot on swedish haha but can anybody help me or figure out what im doing wrong?

the reason im using 2 cards is because im going to mix on a friends laptop so he bought a USB soundcard to put in for double channels wich is needed for master/que-headphones.

  Welcome to mixvibes and discover DJ.  Gonna need a little bit more info, (easy to say)
1 what sc is installed on comp
2 what type of usb sc you are trying to use,
3 have you read the tutorial on asio for all
4 supply basic info as to comp setup ie the o s ,etc
5 have you updated your software to latest version
all pertent info will help us find a solution .read the topics pertaing to sound card setup, also on multi channel sc also on using two sc.
one of the key to using two sc is that they both be reconized by the software,,,and by using asio4all you can "tie " the two sc together.   if not myself some one with a little bit more expericence and info will help you get it sorted

  good to hear  share what you did for the next person

problem was that on my stationary comp the soundcard had 5.1 system so that messed with finding the USB soundcard so instead of having just two cards i had with ASIO like 6 channels and sound on different speakers on my system hehe, complicated everything a bit.

on the laptop it was easy to setup, 2 cards one channel on both, easypeasy with ASIO just a click away and it worked fine so now i have everything i need hehe :D

  you can use the software on your stationary comp with th 5.1, you just have to asign the headphone to a identifiable set of out puts, and use then as headphone monitoring, have creative sound blaster 7.1 installed on home comp

hehe yeah i know, didn't know how to asign them in ASIO first didn't want to "steal" a channel on my speakersystem so USB-soundcard made it work perfectly, now it all works great
