how do I find out? is there indications on the software level (besides Cross having trouble) or do i have to take it to an expert?

i was running XP, fresh install, no other programs installed, and Cross lagged with the first 2 songs (one for each player).
i ran the latency checker program that was suggested earlier in this thread, it stayed low and green, although there were very small green periodic spikes. can this indicate a problem somewhere?

I don't really know, but what I mean, is that it could be related to the SpeedStep feature of the CPU getting wong. You can try to check in win XP what's the CPU speed (i can't remember how to do this on XP) when you launch it and see if this matches the theorical freq.
That's just a hint !

Cheers,
