Four controllers

Postby Hollender on 12 Nov 2017, 13:55

I have Mixvibes Cross and i'm using two denon sc2000 controllers. I have another two sc2000 controllers which i'd like to use so i can control four decks at the same time. Is this possible, and if so, how do i get this working?

Moved your topic to the MIDI section of the forum.

Yes it's possible. You just have to connect the controllers to make it feasible. However challenge is in the MIDI mapping. It will be a kind of copy of the default for deck A and deck B.

I would suggest to send a PM to FigDJ (in case he doesn't reply here soon). He probably can explain how to do this quickly using a kind of search and replace for some values using a plain text editor.

If you're willing to give it a try: copy the default mapping sc2000 (using x2 button in MIDI preferences).
Make 1 change which is specific to deck C (like play). Compare default with C mapping (you can only edit copied versions, so make a default copy) and do a search and replace (include sufficient codes to not have replacements of like A > C for every A in the file....)
repeat for D.

Okay, sounds reasonable. I will give it a try and see what happens.

Thx for the quick reply!

I assumed that the default maps allows you to control decks A and B.

Your 1st two controllers are set
Deck1=Player A= Channels 1 and 2
Deck2=Player B= Channels 3 and 4

you must set the MIDI channel for the additional decks to

Deck3=Player C= Channels 5 and 6
Deck2=Player D= Channels 7 and 8

Then you must take the default file make a copy and modify the copy as follows:

1. Take all deck commands for Player A
copy to a working editor blank file
2. Modify all commands listed for player A channel 1 to
Player C channel 5.
3. Modify all commands listed for player A channel 2 to
Player C channel 6.
4. Copy all the modified command and added to the end of the input mapping section of the copied file from default.

In your working file

5. Modify all commands listed for player C channel 5 to
Player D channel 7.
6. Modify all commands listed for player C channel 6 to
Player D channel 8.
7. Copy all the modified command and added to the end of the input mapping section of the copied file from default.

That should take care of all deck commands. FX and global commands will need some revision but that should get you started.
