Would it be possible to add a function to reload playlists and genres on the device. I connected a USB key with music and playlists after I disconnected it all the playlists were stored in Cross DJ and all the genres listed. I manually removed all the playlists but I can't see anyway of removing the genres.

I have deleted all other music apps and cleared all the cache, I even removed and reinstalled Cross DJ but this big list of genres still appears in Cross DJ?

Cross Android uses the android media base as media database. Likely your info is still there.
It would be nice to have an own database, but that would take a lot of space from the usual limited capacity at android devices, which now can be used for e.g more tracks.
The control over the database is done by android somehow somewhere sometime.

*EDIT: OK I had a look around apparently you need to clear the "Media Storage App" to refresh the database I will try this later and report back.

Also is there any option to store the Cross databases on the SD card (analysis etc.)

Cross and its core files work best in fastest available storage.
Analysis files are required at track load to quickly have the DJ-related track properties like cue and beatgrid.
If you want to use it as a DJ app you should not consider moving to SD.

The above works for clearing the database just do a restart when finished and all will be refreshed.

Thanks for the info roughly how much space does the app take up if you have a large collection loaded? Say 5-10K Songs

I guess Cross already has an own database to store related analysis data for each song. So keeping up an own database for the songs themselves wouldn't take up relevant space.
Basically every player uses an own database as the android media library is usually incomplete, has wrong content or data which could not played back externally (gmusic/DRM protected). Or missing entries which could be played back by ffmpeg or whatever codec is bundled with the player, but not natively in android.
Cross really should move on to use it's own media database on android. I wonder about the iOS implementation.
