Which key detection system?

Postby Bobsterz on 24 May 2019, 06:16

Hi, can you tell me which key detection system Cross DJ uses? I am aware to two main ones, and the key detection doesn't seem to match either of those systems. Honestly, I can't seem to detect a system for the numbers Cross DJ selects. Been trying to find a pattern, but different numbers will show up for the same keys in different songs.

By the way, it would be really nice to be able to choose standard/traditional notation (A, Ab, G, etc) rather than numbers. A lot of us know what a fifth is and would prefer not to memorize yet another system. Looks like this is available on the desktop version.

Keyfinder is used (see menu>about)

In Display you can choose classic/harmonic.

Key detections is never perfect. If only because even music experts don't always agree on the key of a track.

Advantage of harmonic is that it is somewhat easier to determine matching tracks.+/- 1; xA<>xB ; "+/-3 and A<>B"
