Can't connect Cross DJ Pro to my external mixer

Postby Matos on 13 Aug 2016, 11:45

Hi all,

I have bought recently the Cross DJ app pro after trying it. I love it!
However I saw a video on YouTube showing the possibility to connect my tablet to an external mixer. This exactly what I was looking for. I have a Pioneer DJM 400 2 channel mixer and a Tractor DJ cable.

I follow all the instructions , bought a traktor DJ cable on purpose, I have also 2 rca jack cables and when I connect everything to the mixer, nothing happens. The sound doesn't go through. I of course also turn the MIXER option on on the advanced settings, but nothing..

Any thoughts?

I have a Galaxy tab 9.7 S2, android 6.0.1 and Cross DJ app version 3.0.6

Many thanks!

Seb.

If you plug in a headphone you can also test (set) as a mixer.

Next you can plug the headphone in each of the DJ cable outputs

Your minijack of the rca has to be a stereo plug.

Please let's know the result.

Hi,

Everything is working fine now!! Actually, I solve the problem by selecting "mono" on a very little swithch at the back of my mixer.

Thank you very much for your support!

Best regards;

This will result in the same audio output, but shouldn't be the way to do it.

Usually a mono switch at a mixer is to have a mono input duplicated to make it 'stereo', resulting in an identical left and right channel.

The DJ splitter does the same. With the mixer setting at your smartphone/tablet the audio is seperated for Left and Right in your audio plug. Each side representing one output of a deck.
The (any) DJ splitter seperates the Left and Right to a seperate output plug. In each of the output plugs the (mono) signal is duplicated to both the left as right of the stereo plug.
Your jack-rca cable should just work as a stereo to dual mono splitter.

With you setup you likely can remove the DJ splitter and just use the jack-rca cable. Pretty sure that with your selected mono button this will have the same result.
