Problem with Wego3 connection to Samsung Note 4

Postby dbuck on 19 Jan 2016, 12:40

Hi, I especially bought the Wego3 because I read it's now compatible with Cross DJ on Android.

I've connected as per the video instructions through a powered USB hub and the app does not recognise the controller.

If I connect the controller directly to the phone the controller recognises the phone but I can't get any sound out of the controller.

None of the above options (connecting through hub or directly to phone) charges the phone. Seems like it won't charge at all through the OTG cable.

I really just want to get this working so any help appreciated. Otherwise I just spent $400 for a high tech paperweight.

Can you use other OTG options (mouse, memstick). Just to be sure the OTG function is alive for your device. A quick search does seem to get some hits on OTG issues with the note 4. Didn't go into details, so might be more rare than first page in google shows...

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

As mouse works it's pretty likely OTG connection is functional.

It isn't strange if an external device doesn't work when connected direct. A phone/tab doesn't have much output power so only low energy devices work.

Various types of hubs exist. Make sure to use the data/power ports and not the data only or power only ports (If these are present).

If it's a powered hub then it should be able to charge the tab. If this doesn't work I would guess something is wrong with the hub or cable.

You can try to use a 'normal' charging cable to see if this works.

Does the controller have leds on when connected to the hub?
