The Business of LATENCY in Andorid vs iOS

Postby mmediaman on 14 Dec 2015, 01:30

Hello all,

I started playing with CrossDJ and bought the Android version because my personal phone is a Samsung S5. I also own an iPhone6, on which I have also loaded CrossDJ ...just to compare.

I came to realize that there is a problem with latency on Android and not on iOS. :( In further research I came across:

These appear to clearly confirm the problem. My question to MixVibes is whether the superpowered SDK is considered for CrossDJ since even though Android Lollipop promised to address the latency issue, it still exists.

At the moment it seems that unless you are doing "very tame" mixing, you almost have to use CrossDJ on iOS to get the kind of performance required for pro presentations.

Needless to say, I feel cheated that I payed 40% more for the Android version of CrossDJ above what it cost for iOS. :frown:

Comments welcome. :D

Seems a good SDK at first glance. They say it's for free... This may be the trickiest part.. If MV would add this (which will be quite a project to test at many devices aside from the '1 day implementation') it has to be sure that no future license costs will be there and support must be in place for future versions, especially as this is a non reversible step (from user experience perspective)

Regarding the prices... I find it merely hard to understand how they are able to deliver this product and new versions for the few $$ they ask for it.... No adds...
