Vestax vci 400+android

Postby x2805 on 21 Oct 2015, 14:23

Can i use an OTG cable and hook up my VCI 400 to my smartphone. I would definetly like to try that. Second - wil it use the Vestax soundcard ot just have two mono outputs from the headphone jack?
As far as i understood (I have used the free version for android, but now i paid for the full) i can't use other controllers than the suported? (CAn i not simpy make som MIDI mapping for my controller)

Unfortunately what you want is the ideal world. MixVibes may be 'en route' but OTG isn't fully adapted yet. Meaning several options exist that are device independent, like parallel processing of MIDI and audio.

So
- no you cannot use the VCI, no option to build your own mapping either.
- no option to use the soundcard.

Audio dropouts? Increase audio 'buffer size' value.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

So it is the way i thought it would be! Is there any possibility to split tracks/use sound card under android(except for mono)? And for the MIDI will there be possibility to use any (in my case vci 400) controller on Mixvibes just as controllrer...

As many android versions exist (many 100s) it is hard to tell if any does support use of external sound card. For sure it starts with Android L to be supported. Which doesn't mean this has been implemented by many hardware manufacturers. As also the build in sound card/audio has to be able to handle additional sound channels.

Several MIDI controllers are supported: U-Mix Control Pro 1&2, Pioneer DDJ-SB, DDJ-WeGO2, DDJ-WeGO3
