Library Path

Hi

I'm testing the demo version of Cross-DJ on my XpriaZ1compact.
Now, I have a lot of audiofiles on my phone that I won't ever want to use in cross-dj (audio books, my little 2 year old daughters music, etc.)
Yet those files appear in the database.
I'd like to import only a specific folder on my SD card into cross-djs music collection.
How to do that?
Thanks

Daniel

Crossdj uses the mediabase. For this your suggested option isn't possible other than somewhat via playlist and folders as way of selection.

Other option would be to have your daughter figure it out and have her do the gigs while you drive and fly her across the globe. ...

Thank you, that is a reeeealy good idea. Why haven`t i thought of this before...
Well, to be serious again. I think, it's an essential feature of a DJ software, to be able to choose what is listed in my library and what's not.
I use "player pro" for playing audio, wich also uses the android media database. In this app, i can easily choose a specific music folder. All other folders containing audio are hidden.

Anyway, I found a workaround for my problem:
I moved all my folders containing audio that i don't want to use in cross-dj into one folder and renamed it, starting with a dot. When i do a media rescan (widget), android will not scan this folder.
Unfortunately, if i want to play music to my daughter, i have to rename that folder again, remove the dot and do another media rescan.
Perhaps its possible to write a batch script that does all those steps in one click, but i'm not a programmer.

But hey... Actually, that should be your job ;)

Not a programmer...
A separate database would be nicest. Many devices however struggle with available disk size.
I personally don't think folder based filtering will be a way to go. With the access to soundcloud (and likely others in future) as well as potential use of other sources this won't be to easy.

But if you don't ask the devteam doesn't know the need is there. ..

So, do you want to move this topic to "APPS suggestions" or does the devteam read this anyway? Or should I write a new post in suggestions?

Where did this end up?

Does this mean that once you attach an external storage device to your phone that the Android mediabase is potentially populated with 1000s of songs that may not even be there when you unplug the storage device?

WTF??
Is anybody alive here?
Do devs really read this stuff?

All I hear is the wind blowing.
Is the product advancing or is the project dead??

Android updates the mediabase by itself so any change will result in a changed mediabase. It just isn't always clear when the mediabase actually runs the update.

Further release 2.3 has recently been released... If you check out the blog you'll see there is no reason to think the project is dead.
