Cool, sounds good with Android L .... next version. For my Note 3 it will release shure :-) I use excellent fast custom roms on my Note 3 and when the first Android 5.0 will be available from Samsung there will be a custom rom available.
Than I will test again the U.Mix Control Pro 2 perhaps with prehear :-)
But CrossDJ must support also 2 stereo signals over the MIDI - otg cable to the U-Mix C.

Informations about Android L:

yeah thats awsome. CrossDJ u rule :-)

I will be one of the first users that install Android L on my Note 3. I have root and custom rom. Wait for an official custom build L :-)

Perhaps the S4 mini dont support usb host OTG. Have you Put a Power Supply in the U-Mix Control?
On my Note 3 it works perfect, Android 5 (L) will release soon and then the audio signal can be transmit over the usb cable to the U-Mix. that will be a dream ..... come true :surprised:

Nordhal wrote:Hi !

Sorry , I came back from IFA.

So, we support MIDI Control for U-Mix Control Pro, and U-Mix Control Pro 2.
But sadly, we do not support the audio interface yet. It should come when Android L will be released ( because Google should implement the USB audio interface support with this)

HOWEVER, like every other updates we have on Android: How many devices will be updated to Android L ? That's the question.

I hope your galaxy Note 3 will receive this update.

Hi Nordhal,

so when can we expect OTG Audio support? Android 5 has been out for some time now and even the 4.4-based Cyanogenmod (11) codebase provides impressive OTG Audio performance.

I just bought the UMCP2 in hopes that it'll work out of the box as long as Android supports OTG Audio. Should have read the  quoted comment of yours better...

When I connect it to my Oneplus One, the MIDI controls are very impressive, but I don't get ANY audio, as Android recognizes the device as a USB audio output but the app doesn't seem to route anything to it (I could be wrong here - didn't really look at the "logs of cats", but I think it's a safe bet that this could be the issue). I can force the output to the jack if I plug one in but who want's to settle for mono?

Please let me know if I can be of any help in making OTG Audio happen for the UMCP2. If you need help getting support for the audio interface itself (in case you are aware that there are low-level protocol issues), please consider sending a unit to Steve Kondik, who has already made it happen for "most" chipsets. If my baseless assumption is correct and your audio interface is already recognized by Android devices with OTG Audio support, please update the application to actually use the interface, at least for cue monitoring!

You already have a solid app and a well-built controller; getting this to work will give you a competitive advantage beyond anyone's imagination!

OTG audio is already available with Cross DJ App.

It just isn't generic plug and play, so controllers will gradually be added to list of supported devices. Now DDJ-SB and DDJ-WeGo2.

Thank you for your response. That is good news! I hope you don't mind a few follow-up questions:

1) Would you mind sharing the rationale behind supporting other controllers before your own?

2) Can you provide a rough ETA on the UMCP2 support? I need to decide whether to return mine or wait. I would rather wait because I like the unit, but if other controllers take priority over it in development, I won't be able to wait for long.

1. Check the number of Cross DJ and Cross DJ Free downloads....

2. Usually no commitments on developments as even 1 last minute test issue can stop the release of a planned feature. It's listed as a wanted controller by many users...

I can't really understand why you don't support your controller over other hardware. Making users buy your gear at least makes you some dollars off all the people pirating your software. I guess the low sales of the payed version of Cross aren't down to people not liking the app, many people just download apps like Cross illegally.
