crakles on the audio with android

hello,
i'm using Cross DJ for android
with a sony xperia E1 smartphone
the system is android jelly bean

during playback, i have crakles, distortion like
when you first load a song and play it immediatly:
the song is not in the buffer memory yet and you hear crakles.
and also like the song slows down and speeds up to get right in time.
but it remains all the duration of the song

i changed already the decoder to normal, but no improvement.

i can't use Cross DJ for android in a party that way

Hi,

Ok, thanks for reporting this.

Cross DJ 1.4 will come soon. There is a workaround for this kind of issue (audio slow down, crackles) : it's coming from manufacturers phone with the new Android Kitkat (4.4.2) (Sony, Samsung we are sure of that, the others, we do not know yet).

Google told us there was a bug in their audio engine and that manufacturers could have miss a fix they made. That's why we will have a weird options in advanced settings called : "OpenSL mode".
Check it to Async and sound should be ok.

Again, it will only be available on Cross DJ 1.4, so tell us if it will work when this release will be published.

Dear Nordhal and the Mixvibes Team:
THANK YOU FOR THE VERSION 1.4.4 !!! ( released 17th july)

IT IS PERFECT!

everything works.

i have set the parameters to :
Decoder Speed: normal
decoder : Google
openSL mode : Default

no more Crakles.
and the AUTOMIX doesn't stop anymore.
what else?
that's all i needed.

now i have to practise with the behaviour of the automix when i change for a song that was not in the playlist and have loaded a new one ,without cutting the song which is playing

as a thank here is a video of last night in Paris
MERCI!

Hi Fred,

As far as I know, there were issues only when Android 4.4 was built in the phone.
An update should not be a problem. And even if it's an issue, there's the OpenSL Mode option to be able to work around this.

So my advice should be to update to Android Kitkat. To my opinion, it's always good to have last updates.
