Cross DJ remote App for iPhone not working

Have the paid version of Cross DJ loaded on my MacBook and have just bought the Remote app for my iPhone 6s. For whatever reason, the app is not controlling the program on my MacBook. Please advise

MacBook Air: OSX El Capitan 10.11
iPhone 6s: iOS 9.0.2
Cross DJ: 3.3.11 (64bits)

Apple seems to have made changes somewhere in the os version that causes a problem with el Capitan. The devteam is looking into this to have a fix ASAP.

I'm NOT on El Capitan. I'm using Yosemite and was duped into buying the remote from the software banner. It doesn't work and apparent;y hasn't in quite a while from what I'm reading. I'm an IT guy by trade and this simply does not work using the instructions provided by the software. So why doesn't it work with Yosemite??
