now before i go in to this i would only do this if u can the cash cause they cost alot right now

and only work with vista and windows 7 mac's to

OCZ Vertex 2 Access - Read 285MB/s
Access - Write speed 275MB/s

this would be a huge gain for any laptop (hell its a huge gain over my ssd read speed 90 should have waited lol)

when i put in my ssd i went from a windows score of 5.7 to 7.4

djing with mixvibes installed is so much better plus there is no moving parts with a ssd and it does not put out heat

the 50 gb is 200 us i know alot of cash for no crash lol (i sound like a sales man )

in sort there is no load time

These drives are awesome however in saying that
I have been certifying these drives for my work
I have found that after many copies and re writes over the same sectors the drive begins to get smaller
mind you these tests were done using over 1 million 3kb text files
to replicate extreme usage
started with 64gig after multiple test runs and all files deleted
drive was only 59Gig. I have gone back to the vendor asking what the deal is still waiting for a response maybe we have a bad batch.

However tests preformed using the disk as purely for the OS and applications were not much write activity is occurring drive preformed very well windows 7 load times decreased considerably.

so just be careful if planning on using these early SSD drives for storage were writing and reading is preformed heavily.

This is an interesting point, as I've heard about this on a few other forums. For an OS drive, I think an SSD would be perfect, but I agree with you on media storage where constant writes/re-writes would be taking place.

yes very ture slc ssd last alot longer than mlc but there 1 g so but this comes with a tool to gain some of that back

This is an interesting point, as I've heard about this on a few other forums. For an OS drive, I think an SSD would be perfect, but I agree with you on media storage where constant writes/re-writes would be taking place.

ya i would not use it for that just the os and a install of my fav games and mixvibes
theres less of a delay with it and even better when u can raid them

yeah Raid is crazy fast with the drives. seen server 2008 start in unbeliveable time
