These 2 links are the best and most detailed
they cover almost everything off
I was about to post my guide when i saw this post
and thought there really is much point in that now, to be honeset the audio forum guides are better!!
so rather than doubling up on information
Does anyone have any other performance issue or setup questions more than happy to help

The Vista link you provided was very helpful, I noticed my laptop in general runs a little more smooth now (as well as MV and other audio programs working great).

You would be suprised at how much windows stuff is running in the background that you don't necessarily need.

For Vista:

For XP Home:

For XP Professional:

A lot of these can be disabled using msconfig. Disable with caution.
