The Asio drivers offer the best performances but are not always easy to install depending on which sound card you are using. In fact, ASIO is only really useful if you are using a vinyl or CD deck to control MixVibes. If you are going to use the VCI-100 to control your tracks, you can choose one of the other drivers. Go to
[File->Options->Sound] and choose between one of the three following drivers :
1) KERNEL :
kernel should be your first choice for best performance. It delivers a seamless latency. This driver is recommended for users with a multiple output soundcard. Sorry t doesn't with VISTA yet.
2) Multi channel :
Multi media will work with any sound card and any computer its a safe and stable driver. It has more latency then Kernel. Try lowering it through the Option control pannel [File->Options->Sound]. If you hear crackling sound during the playback it means you have lowered the latency to much for your system.
3)Multi audio :
Choose this driver if you are using 2 different sound interfaces for monitoring and playback (eg : you are using the internal soundcard for playback, and the Mixvibes USB stick for monitoring)
