U46MK2 + Traktor/3DEX + Headphone problem

Postby QDJ on 06 Oct 2007, 13:51

Hi all,

I strugglin with the following problem: I want to connect the headphone to the soundcard and want to monitor/prelisten another track. On the headphone I hear the master out and can prelisten/monitor the track.
I want to only listen to the new track without hearing the master out.

Setup: Kontrol-DJ MIDI controller - usb - PC, u46mk2 - usb - PC. headphone connected to front of u46mk2.
On PC traktor3 / 3DEX.
Another person has a vci-100 with the same setup as above.

Someone any idea how to solve this?.... i can't imagine i'm the only one with this request.
Thanks you all

Hi, I think you need a Mixer in your configuration to monitor your mix. The U46 is not a stand alone monitoring device for what i know => you can't use the headphone output to monitor a separate output .

Not sure what your alternatives are, unless buying a first price mixer on ebay. :?:

This is the inside of the U46MK2. It's easy to understand the limits of the phones...

Hi all,

found a solution. Was quite simple actually. :dancing:
U46MK2 -> USB PC; Speakers connected to 5&6; Headphone to phonejack front U46.
Software Traktor: Output master programmed to 5&6 and monitor (prelisten) to port 1&2.
Settings done in Traktor, Preferences, Audio setup, Output routing.

Enclosed picture of the solution.

Still try to find a solution for 3Dex. But customer happy with this solution so i wanted to share this.

Thanks
