Recording with U-Mix 44

Postby lolilolz on 12 Jan 2012, 20:33

Hi mixvibes,

I have planned to buy a U-Mix 44 soundcard but before that, I really need to know if that I want to do is possible.

Here is my problem : I have a DNS1200 mixer (Denon) with two DNS1200 cdturntable (I guess this is the world we use in english. btw, denon too) and I want to record my mixes. But, my mixer has only one output, so I haven't a dedicated output for recording.

My idea is here : Buy an extern sound card like the U-Mix44, plug the output of my mixer on the soundcard input. With these connection, I guess I will be able to record the mix (with a software like Audacity), but now I need to *forward* this input in one of the output in order to plug my speakers : to hear the mix.

What do you think about my problem ? Is it possible/a good idea ? Or maybe you have a better proposal ?

Anyway, sorry for my bad english, I'm actually not at all a native speaker :P.

Thanks for you time,
lolilolz.

Hum,

Thanks for your answer, but I'm not sure you have well understood my problem.
Could you explain your point please ?

Bye

Easy, you plug it in the out of your mixer, then run one stereo cable to the umixx-input for recording and the other the amp/pa.

this means you need 2 of theese adapters.
they split your mixer´s output so you can connect 2 devices to it.

Ok I see, thanks for the explanations. And sorry blackbrook if I'm a bit dumb :)).

With those splitter, will I have the same sound quality ? (don't worry this is my last question :D).
Thx!

yes you will. dont use them to combine signal, only to split.

sorry,I know this is the wrong topic to post this comment on but i
found this website extremely confusing.

I am having a problem with my U-Mix 44. I cannot seem to get both outputs to work at the same time when using mixvibes DVS but when i use Cross i can get both outputs to work with ease. Could someone please tell me what i am doing wrong in mixvibes DVS Ultimate?

thank you
