hey all, its been a while since i last posted here, but im not lost, lol. its just the world turned a bit upside down for me at the beginning of the summer and i had a lot else sad things to do..

but hooray, here i am, with a problem to solve

im now a happy owner of a new u46mk2 soundcard and i wanted to test it with my little netbook (1,7ghz single core, 2gb ram) too. i sadly discovered that i cant andjust the latency of the cart above a distant range (cant remember the exact level, maybe it was 256?). with this setting this smaller PC cant really handle the task (vinyl timecode) which it could before at a higher latency with my good old U-Mix44. of course the main lappy i use for gigs runs with no problem but sometimes id like to use the netbook too (as its always with me, i do basic sketches of tunes on it when an idea crosses my mind, its small n handy, etc)

so my question is that is it possible to go above this limited latency with the u46mk2? thanks for the answers in advance, i still have my faith in the forum team!

edit: oh yea, one more thing. could someone plz remove the U-Mix44 serials (DVS le + easyrec) from my profile? as i sold the soundcard i wanna make them available to use for the new owner. thanks

So you´re saying you can't the latency higher than 256, so it would run smooth but quite laggy on your netbook?

not in Cross or in the u46mk2 driver panel you can choose a higher value?

no its 288, i checked it later. but ye, thats the case. so u say its not the card that has this limitation? wtf then, im out of ideas

btw Cross wont even let me to adjust the latency, its set on the control panel

and there´s no value higher than 288?

then clearly it´s intended not be used with netbooks

Be aware that you try to change the latency when the audio interface is not used by any program running. Otherwise, if the interface is used, you can not change anything!

the control panel looks like this, and in Cross i cannot move the latency slider once this panel thingie have set it

Aaaaahhh yeah, I remember!!!! Same over here O.o As j-kut mentioned: you can not get higher and therefore you can not use it on low spec machines which need higher latencies ... sad but true :-(
