playing with one turntable trouble

PostPosted: 05 Jul 2011, 12:21

to play music with just one turntable I split the turntable rca into the 2 inputs so I can control both tracks with the same controller(vynil) and bypassing the one who's playing I can mix with the other track...the problem is that when I click on bypass on one song you can ear a very loud noise like a whistle..do you know why?..is there any solution?
thanks for your answer..

Hey,

you mean this "PIEP" sound or? this is the signal which is on the vinly you are playing.

I don't know what you have done exactly: splitt the RCA cable like a y-adapter an go to both input at the interface?
Why you use the internal Function at DVS? you can set at the Timecode section under options that you want to use only one device for both decks.

The active player is then under timecode control.

the whistle is the same sound you ear when you put the needle on the vynil but much louder...and yes I split the rca cable with a y adapter into the 2 inputs..that's the way you can also play regular vynil splitting into phono and input of mixvibes...however thanks for the tips i will try with this settings and i let you know..

Both Outputs of the y-adapter in the soundcard or one to the soundcard and one to the mixer? the second variant with one ot the soundcard and one to the phono in at the mixer is the best way to split the signal to DVS and for regular use to the Mixer.

And to the one player at DVS option you can switch with the TAB key at the keyboard between the two decks.
The number at the player is switching from white to yellow or blue at the special deck.

I tried as you say selecting the option just one turntable and it works..but just for a few tune..as i keep on mixing it gets confused..in particular when i switch(pushing TAB as you said) the control from 1(where the turntable is connected) to 2(where there's nothing on the input)..sometimes i can't control nothing sometimes i control both tracks at the same time.
I also set windows xp as recommended to maximize my PC performance but it doesn't help for that.
anyway, thank you for your tips

Hey

which version have you installed? 7.218 or 7.4 RC?

I also worked a few weeks with only one turntable (other was broken and under guarantee so I bring it in ^^) and it worked quit well.

I agree with you that the view for the deck which is active is not very visible but look at the little numbers at the left corner of the deck at the wavemeter they are changing there color.

And what exactly do you mean with sometimes the control is not working or when you spin the vinyl you are control both decks?

I have mixvibes pro 7.0.4.3..I understand that when I press TAB it switches deck and changes the little number color but the programme didn't...:) after a while it seems that it's working because it changes color when I press TAB but the control stick with just one turntable..usually the one connected...and somtimes I switch deck but when I spin nothing happens or instead I spin and both decks begin to move..

Ok,
thats a problem. could you upload a config report? I have no other idea what's going wrong with your system. You could install the new version from the downloadsection at the forum and test it with this. (maybe direct the 7.4RC. It is working at my system very stable with no problems)

Otherwise maybe the Support has a solution.

Update your operating system AND update your Producer to the latest version.
