Hey

ok. Have you disabled the Exclusive Mode for the device? This can cause problems. I had this with my TV card and soundcard. The software crashed every startup. I disabled the exclusive mode and it worked. It could maybe the same issue?

To disable it go under Sound preferences. output device -> preferences -> last tap at these window and disable the exclusive mode.

Regards
Christian

I wish it was the case. However, it did not help.
As a matter of fact, I don't even see an activity light blinking on u-mix44. It means that there is no signal going from PC to Sound Card. Although, youtube works flawlessly...

USB light is ON on the device. If I use Winamp I can see an activity light blinking and I have sound. MediaMonkey and Second Life - no sound, no activity light.

1: it shouldnt blink at all - it´s on or off.

->something is wrong on your system.
(the only leds "blinking" are the channel-leds showing if there´s in/output)

2: to have asio, the device needs to wdm-compliant -> it´s a settings issue.

Refer to the second-life/media-monkey support.
Obviously there´s something wrong there!

Thanks for your input.

When I mentioned "blinking" light I referred to the output channel lights.

I'm not following your comments on ASIO. My understanding of ASIO usage in this case is that ASIO can be used ONLY if the software supports it, i.e. Traktor supports ASIO hence I see ASIO control panel. MediaMonkey doesn't so I don't get ASIO control panel when MediaMonkey is running. Therefore, there is nothing to configure on ASIO side unless the app supports it. Correct me if I'm wrong on this.

in any case, youtube clearly doesn't care about ASIO and it runs fine...

Here is fix for Media Monkey: In "Options" switch Output Plug-in from "Media Monkey DirectSound to "waveout Output". Then click "Configure" and select U-mix44.

I wish Second Life had such detailed sound control options...hmmm.
Does it have something to do with DirectSound? IF so, then how can I manipulate it?

Asking me I would reply that if you can not adjust the U-Mix as interface in the running software (second life) or if you can not set it up as the default windows audio interface then there is no chance to get sound in second life for example.

Hi,

Have you tried going in your audio properties to see if the card is correctly detected?
