Urgent help needed - needle position

I have to DJ on friday and got a problem. I work with hot cue's and had the problem that the needle used to jump to the original needle position, this got fixed by changing to all relative, but now the needle changes to the next hot cue marker
I've also noticed that after playing for a while the quality gets really bad (0-20% quality) and i have to turn open the tone arm and lick the tone arm connection - this is the ONLY way the quality goes back to normal, just opening and closing the tone arm doesn't work as some say.
What is the problem and how can i fix it?

Ok so i started reading about this on internet and it seems everyone says it's the worst thing to do to lick it and you should just blow really well..I tried it, it worked, wow i really feel like a freakin dumbass right now
I've licked the contact points for the past 6 months whenever it stopped working, could i have done any permanent damage?

Hi,

You can fix this quite easy if you should have done any damage (oxidation) to the contacts!
Just try this stuff, it´s the best and will repair almost any bad connection!

For golden connectors:

for other metall connectors:

Alright,

what you can also do, but only once (!!!!), is take a carbon-fibre brush wich is usually used to get tin solder off Pcbs (you should get one at any local hardware-store) and brush the connectors with it.

It seems like my saviour is a pencil eraser, just rubbed it gently over the contact points and haven't had any trouble for more than half an hour, while the noise usually starts after 10 minutes :D
I'm gonna get a the cleaning product soon, thanks for the help!
