install DVS on netbook (no cd-drive)

Well, well Mr. Clark, then let´s go into Detail

You have a mac, and a win-netbook without cd-drive and want to install DVS?
Do this:

1.Insert the dvs-install-cd into your mac
2.open the disk-utility (found via spotlight, or under programs/utilities)
3.click "new image"
4.select your usb-drive as "target" and the Mixvibes-cd as source
5.Go! ("burn" to your usb-drive)
6.install daemon-tools on your netbook
7.insert the usb-drive with the dvs-image into your netbook
8. show usb-drive via explorer and rename the "mixvibesdvs.dmg" to "mixvibes.iso" in the explorer it should now only say "mixvibesdvs"
9.open daemon-tools and select a virtual-drive
10.drag "mixvibesdvs" to the virtual-drive (or select it from windows-explorer) it now should be recognized as an auto-run install.exe
11.install

Hey,

same procedure as described above, but since you probably have a Win-desktop there´s one difference:

->create the .iso-file with daemon-tools on the PC with the cd/dvd-drive.

when he says "new image" where is that on the winbook?

as i said, you have to do that with daemon-tools.

alright then. i´ll try to guide you thru this.

1. you need daemon-tools on both your win machines (netbook and the one with the cd-drive)

2. open daemon-tools on your cd-machine

3.insert the dvs-cd

4.select create new image in daemon-tools

5.choose the dvs-cd to create the image from and your usb-drive as save-location.

6.when it´s done take the usb-drive to your netbook and run the install.exe from daemon-tools there.

Hey,

when you have a privat network you can share your CD-Drive from the computer with the drive to the netbook.

Share the cd/dvd drive where the DVS CD is in.
Netbook: go to Network -> %Computername% -> CD/DVD name
open the install.exe

at my system it worked perfect.

you should disable for the installation the UMC or you start the isntall.exe with administrator rights.
