Hey guys. I'm using the Mixvibes U46 MK2 card and I am using MIDI control for the decks. I'm curious as to why with the latest drivers I can't get higher than 512 on latency settings. Every other sound card I use can go way up to 2048 and I would like to be able to utilize the higher settings. Am I imagining that this used to be possible going back a couple of years with the other drivers? Any thoughts on this?

Why would you want to go higher? The higher the ASIO Buffer size (latency setting) is the less responsive the software will become.

Ideally you need to be at a size of 512 or under if you can. The lower the better really

I have my ASIO Buffer set at 96(2m/s) with my Hercules Trim 4&6 soundcard and Cross runs fine

In this case : bigger is not better...

Sorry for the delay in reply... I actually was under the impression that lower latency was better in cases of timecode etc. When using MIDI controllers higher latency provides better overall quality.

Again... not saying this factually... Just what I was led to beleive.

Hey there. I appreciate your response and read over the replies. here is the thing though. The posts prior to yours I don't agree with. You and most others to be fair are using timecode vinyl or CD which requires low latency. Therefore a soundcard that goes from 48-288 is great. However, when using MIDI controls (Which I am) it becomes useless... Too many glitches and control issues. I confirmed my suspicions by using another sound card (M-Audio) and when to 1024 and it's perfect. I ahve 3 of the U46 cards and it makes me a bit upset that they got rid of the higher latency settings. There's no reason for it really...

If anyone has a solution for it or a driver that will work with windows 7 with higher latency please let me know. I would appreciate it.

I have a silly question but why you want those big latency? You are right when using Timecode lower is better. But also with a MIDI controller. If the latence is too big the controler and the sound drifting away. I mean that you get more and more a bigger "wait time" from pushing the button to what the sound is doing. When I use a MIDI controller I also want to have a smal latence. My old behringer controler wants also a buffersize and latence between 64 and up to 512. You cant set more in that penel too.

And my second maybee silly question: What are your specifications of the computer that you need those big latence? My old P4 works with the U46 with 48kH and latence lower 128 perfect.

And when you insert your license you can also download the newest driver for the U46. Maybee with that you can set a higher latence.
