Beginner's Troubles

Postby CaliDub23 on 02 Jan 2011, 00:21

Hello to everyone in the Mixvibes Community! I'm brand new to DJ'ing and am very excited to get started. I accumulated my equipment a couple of months back- 2 Stanton T-62's, a Behringer DJX750, Serato Scratch Live Control Vinyl, and the Mixvibes U-Mix 44... running with Virtual DJ, or DVS LE.

Before I say too much I want to make a point, I'm AVERAGE with technology in general, have pretty decent- err computer skills if you will. By no means do I know how to do any of this stuff, so bear with me and please help a beginner out :)

I got all my equipment set up correctly (thanks youtube!) and it's up and running. When I open up Virtual DJ (been using it at the moment because of the basic interface) the Timecode signal from my right deck is 100%, and the left deck's signal bounces very quickly ranging from 3% to about 89%. I'm running into one problem, when I go to scratch on the RIGHT deck it doesn't register that the vinyl is then going in reverse. Basically no matter what way I spin the vinyl, forwards or backwards... it plays the song forwards. The left deck, even though it isn't even 100% and sounds fine, is having no problems.

How can I get both tables to a 100% signal strength, and have the vinyl play forwards and backwards.
ANY help with this will be greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance! :D

Ps- I hope it's okay posting this twice, I realized that there was a technical support section after I posted in the introduce yourself section, sorry!

I have used VirtualDJ in the past but I really think, any question relating to VirtualDJ should be asked on there forum ;)

This is MixVibes Forum after all. Any question regarding MixVibes will be gladly answered :)

PS

I have removed your thread in the Introducing page of the forum as multiply posting can cause confusion.

Alright, sorry about that. I understand, and can work with that. In regards to using my DVS LE software, every time I try to use the install wizard it gives me two options for audio outputs, but only ONE option for audio inputs... when I have two don't I? This prevents me from being able to do anything as I can only run one table, it's like the other one doesn't work at all. I'm pretty sure I've got all the software, and drivers installed and up to date, what's wrong?

I believe that, in the DVS LE version,(I may be wrong) it only allows you to use one pair of inputs. Which means that you can only config and use one "Deck" I'm afraid.

You may have to upgrade to get the benefits of both "Decks"

For two decks you have to enter two serials as far as I know. One serial for each deck.

:O
Oh... damn alright. Well as far as the one deck, and the scratching situation in my above post goes... how can I fix the problem. Any ideas? It's still happening, although now I just discovered something different. When I scratch the vinyl the mp3 seems to register that the record's being scratched but it's not showing in the software?
Read above post for more information. Any help is very much appreciated! :D

Cheers

Will answers to all of you in the same post :
- there are 2 DVS LE version : an older one with DJ tech products and need 2 serials and work fully. The lastest one with the U-Mix44 and will only allow one deck input.
- to have control of the software in Mixvibes you need to activate the vinuyl button on the screen
- the timecode quality going up and down on one deck show an issue into the sound capture. Try to switch both decks to see if the issue change side too.
- Serato vinyl won't work correctly into Mixvibes (not the same range)
