Hi there,
i purchased a new PC alongside Windows 7 (64bit, Home Premium) last week, i had used WinXP before and had no trouble running Cross.

Here's a little more info about my system at first:
-CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 760 @ 2.80GHz
-RAM:8GB DDR3
-Audio: U46 MK2, M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496

-Win7 Home Premium, 64bit
-Cross 1.5.0 (AudioCache:60%[2.46GB];Device: U46MK2[44.1kHz; Buffer size: 256]; Routing Mode: External Mixer)
-U46MK2 v3.0

Now my problem: Cross starts without any errors, but when i want to load a file into a deck the message "Media Loading Error - Can't load media: Check your audio settings." appears - this is not the case when i use the motherboards onboard audiochip(direct sound) or my delta 2496(with ASIO) or a single channel of the U46MK2 without ASIO. Using a channel of the U46 with direct sound allows loading files, but doesn't deliver a fluent signal because latency is at a record high.
The U46 is not used by any other application and i have checked everything i could think of and searching the support forum didn't return usable results.

I hope i haven't overlooked anything and this question isn't already answered in the forum.


Edit: Seems like i have overlooked some topics, but couldn't find help there either. My files are all MP3's, most of them encoded with 320kbps, resulting in file sizes between 6 and 16 MB.

try an Audio Cache of 0%

Your M-Audio is properly installed? Official 64 Bit drivers I guess, right?
Are you using different soundcards on your system? If so I guess that there is maybe a driver conflict?!

i'm not using the m-audio card for Cross, because it hasn't got enough outputs. I've set up Cross to use the U46MK2 ASIO Driver, which i had already uninstalled, tried the latest ASIO4All - same error message appeared, and then re-installed the U46MK2 driver.
I've set the audio cache to 0% now, unfortunately that didn't solve the problem.

Edit: Sorry for the unclear the description i had given, i only mentioned the m-audio card because there are no problems with it, but its the U46MK2 which i want to use and where the error occurs.

Ah okay, now I see! Did you uninstall the U46 MK2 properly? I mean did you delete any registry entries and stuff like that? Could please uninstall it again and install it to a totally different path? If it was formerly installed to C:\Programme\ESI\U46MK2\ can you install it to C:\ESI\ now? There are maybe links in your system which make Cross struggling and installing it to a different area on your harddisk might help.

A quick update:
- Disabled onboard sound in BIOS,
- Uninstalled U46MK2 Driver and cleaned Registry using CCleaner
- Re-installed Driver to different path (C:\ESIU46MK2)
- ordered pizza
Error still occurs.

Edit:
Now i tried to install Cross again + deleting Settings in the AppData Folder, but that didn't help

How do i ensure everything related to Cross or the U46MK2 Driver is deleted?

Using the CCleaner is the best choice...

Another hint from me - a total reinstallation:
-Reinstall everything, really everything (Cross, U46 from every path you installed it to)
- Download the latest driver for your U46 from the download center (if you did not already)
- download the latest Cross version from the download center (if you did not already)
-restart your computer
- install the U46 to a totally different location as before (C:\Soundkarte\)
- check if it is working, try it with winamp or any other media player
- Install Cross to a totally different location
- it should work

I am really waiting for your statement and just want to hear that it works Just kidding.

Try your best and post any details in here. I am not sure how long I will be online. Tomorrow Support@Mixvibes will have look into it too and he know a lot more than I do

Did everything in your list, nothing changed
The U46MK2 works perfectly with Winamp. I'm really out of ideas, just to mention, it already had worked (using the UK46MK2 ASIO Driver) a few days ago, but then suddenly it refused working and i really don't know why.
Nonetheless, thanks for your efforts

This is really strange! Did you change anything during the time it worked? Some software you installed? Some hardware changes? A new windows update?

I've updated my graphics card driver and installed the DirectX End-User Runtimes (v9.27.1734). The error has already been occurring when i installed the m-audio card earlier today. That's it, i can't remember any other changes.

That are a lot of changes I am not sure if any of these affect Cross and occur the strange behaviour...maybe (hopefully) someone else can help, I am out of ideas ... sorry!
