Vfx controller and Mixvibes Pro

I just ordered the Vfx controller to replace my antique DMC1 that came with my original Mixvibes purchase.
Question 1, Does the Vfx software replace Mixvibes Pro?
Question 2, Can I still use Mixvibes Pro with the new Vfx controller?
Question 3, If the Vfx software replaces MV Pro, can I import all the comments and other notes that I have within the MV PRO media base or will I loose that info?

I will not be using the Vfx for video, I really just want more control of the computer without having to use the mouse for, effects, cue points, etc. I have had trouble in the past when upgrading loosing some of my comments and having to retype the comments in after the upgrade. Now with 17000 songs plus that could take a while.

What ever the answers are, Mixvibes still outshines all the other programs out there. Hopefully I will have the new controller on Monday 12-20-10. Using MV Pro, Maya 44, Rane mixer, QSC K12s and QSC KSubs. Simple in, Simple out, great sound.

Thanks,
Mike

Hey Mike,

if you are asking me I would stick with Producer and use the Vfx controller. Vfx is a video software, for sure it can mix music, but as far as I am informed it needs some more power (including RAM and CPU). So using Producer with the Vfx controller would be my choice.

Greetings,

Steve

Steve,
Thanks for the advice. That's pretty much the answer I was hoping for. Producer kept me ahead of the others for years. At a gig last night I had another DJ stop by, took a look and said this stuff is to advanced for me. I laughed. Good, stay in the past and let the jobs fall into my lap.

Not really it is a video product way more advanced than Producer was.

The Vfx controler mapping is included the latest MV7 release.

All these are recorded into the MV database file but if you write them to tag, you could read them in any other software that can read tags.

It is possible.

I have had trouble in the past when upgrading loosing some of my comments and having to retype the comments in after the upgrade. Now with 17000 songs plus that could take a while.

Having a copy of your *.VIB files should avoid this.
