Noises and beeps...

Hello,

I have organised another party with my best friend. I wanted to play with Cross for the first time and so I tested it on early saturday morning. There were noises and deeps on the PA system. First I thought of the ground loop problem and unplugged the power adapter without any result. Using the laptop's touchpad caused a frequency modulation of the noise. Every turn on the pad was hearable - I wanted to laugh, but I could not. Fortunately I burn all the tracks as audio CDs although I am using Cross, so I could play the gig without any problem. But it would be nice to use Cross at forthcoming gigs.
So here I am with my problem, anyone in here with a hint? I guess that it is hardware related. Did anybody recognize something smiliar?

Greetings,

Steve

Steve, Have you thought about using a little usb mouse. I very rarely use the touch pad on my laptop. I use the mouse instead ;)

Good hint Jim!
Nevertheless the noises and beeps are hearable even if I do nothing. Using the touchpad just causes an effect ;)

Steve

Issue with the computer power/ground : I had one that you can hear when I was moving a windows on the screen.

Try without the AC or with an alternative AC adapter.

Hi Steve, my "number one" regarding such noise is the network cable - nevertheless the AC adapter is always a hot track to follow ;)

Thanks a lot for all of your hints! As I have written in the first post I unplugged the ac adapter, but that unfortunately did not solve my problem :-( Additionally there was no network cable plugged in. Everything was shut down (wlan, lan, battery checker,...). At home I can not hear anything. I tried to amplify everything as much as I can, but still then it is too silently to detect where it is coming from. I am talking to PartyVIBES who guesses that it is an internal USB Bus problem. If so my machine is definitely the problem and solving this is ... let's say: not that easy. Well if anyone can recommend anything - except "buy a mac" ;-) - please let me know. Till then I will continue playing gigs with CDs while my radio shows are done with Cross :-|

Greetings,

Steve

If you think it is usb then try with an active usb hub to see.
